7th Annual Regatta Highlighted in August Issue of Hot Boat Magazine
For Carrera Boats' Seventh Annual Regatta, the very popular Copper Canyon in Lake Havasu was transformed into Carrera Canyon. "What a great sight," said Carrera President Dennis Winzen, understandably proud that 135 owners came from all over the country to be part of the gathering.

"This is well worth the 2,600-mile drive every year - I wouldn't miss it," gushed Bob Fredericks of Ohio. He has owned three Carreras over the years, and his sentiments were shared by all of the participants in the regatta.

The Havasu event set the stage for owners to show off their rockets and revel in the pride they have in them. Bill Griffin of California's San Fernando Valley had his brand new "state-of-the-art" 257 Effect X in tow. When the boat was being made, Griffin wanted something nobody had seen before, so he ordered a wireless remote control that activates the hatch from up to 500 feet away. "This is the perfect option if you want to show off your boat and never leave your beach chair," he said.

Activities at the regatta included the much-loved Poker Run (for $2,200) and a group rally under the Havasu Sandbar, which replaced the usual parade under the London Bridge. The idea was to give the owners a more relaxed schedule and enjoy the free lunch served up compliments of Carrera.

The weekend was capped off by thousands of dollars in raffle prizes and special recognition for the oldest and newest boats, farthest drive in, etc. The excitement ended with the traditional Carrera owners' party.

Heads Up! The 8th Annual Regatta is scheduled for September 17 - 19.
